SUMMER BAND (mandatory participation):
Begins one week prior to the start of school and runs from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM with meals and frequent breaks provided. Physicals must be completed and submitted prior to start of camp. Opportunities to assist with completing this task we will attempt to offer prior to camp.
Tennis shoes required, and cooling towels are made available for use. Usually, uniform checkout will occur on Wednesday, which will lead to an early release for many students once this task is complete. A skills showcase occurs on the last day of camp for families to watch.
Pro Tips:
Hat, sunscreen
Dress cool
Bring water bottle; we will have water for them to refill
Acclimating to the heat and being outside prior to camp is encouraged

Marching Competitions
Most events last all day, and into the evening, returning home late.
Parents and other supporters are encouraged to attend to be in the stands cheering on our band.
Event entry fees may apply and most events have websites with details.
There will be opportunities to help feed and support the students during the day, and signups will be provided.
Pro tip: If you are helping at our “camp”, you will want to bring a folding chair with you to use when relaxing.
GAME DAYS:
- 4:00 PM Warm Up At Stadium
- 5:00 PM Tailgate Food
- 6-6:30 PM Get into Uniform
- 7:00 PM Typical Game Start Time
The band attends only the away games listed on the master schedule. he “4 Blacks” are required at all games. (See Uniform section for details.)
Meals are provided in Tailgate Alley prior to games and there will be opportunities for parents to help serve and clean up the dinner for the students.
Pro tip: Traffic getting out of the high school means most students will not have time to go home after school and still be at the tailgate alley on time. Send your student to school with their uniform and all necessary items to avoid the after school scramble.
Parade Marching
Our band marches in three local parades each year:
- Homecoming (evening)
- Veteran’s Day (during the morning; students will be bussed to this parade)
- Christmas (evening)
Student drop off location is behind the Pizza Hut.
Student pick up location is in the parking lot at the corner of 1st Street and Beech, near the First Baptist Church.
